Now through a Cooperative Alliance Agreement high school and adult students may earn college credit for courses taken at Northwestl Technology Center and apply that credit toward an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree.

Northwest Tech currently has cooperative alliance credits available through the following schools:

  • Oklahoma State University - Institute of Technology at Okmulgee
  • Northern Oklahoma College at Tonkawa, Enid, and Stillwater

Individuals enrolling in a Cooperative Alliance will save on:

  • college expenses
  • avoid course duplication from high school to college
  • shorten the time needed to earn a college degree
  • earn college credit for approved Northwest Tech courses
  • transition easily from high school to college and on into a career

Cooperative Alliance Requirements

Adult Students

  • Adult students must pay $8 per credit hours
  • Adult students must sign Adult Statement of Understanding
  • Adult students must submit an enrollment form signed by instructor

High School Students

  • Only high school students who meet one of the following criteria will be able to enroll for Cooperative Agreement Credit:
    • Score 19 on ACT
    • Score 15 on PLAN
    • Have a high school GPA of at least a 2.5
  • A parent or guardian must sign a statement of understanding.
  • High school students must submit a high school transcript at time of enrollment.
  • High school students must submit a copy of ACT Plan or ACT test scores (if HS GPA is below a 2.5) at time of enrollment
  • High school students will now get a college transcript immediately after they complete the semester and their grades are turned in to the college.
  • High school students will receive a letter grade (A, B, C, D, etc.).
  • Students must pay $8 per credit hour.

Additional College Credit Opportunities

Additionally, students may earn college credit through special agreements with Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Cowley College.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University

Northwestern Oklahoma State University has partnered with Northwest Technology Center, High Plains Technology Center and Autry Technology Center to provide graduates of allied health programs college credit. Northwestern Oklahoma State University has a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences Degree with a Technical Management major. This program provides students who transfer to Northwestern from a community college with an Associate of Applied Science degree a course of study to complete a bachelor's degree. In addition, it will allow program credit for CareerTech students who have earned industry recognized certification through a national or vender specific examination and/or documented by the American Council of Education (ACE) to be transferred to Northwestern. The degree is also available for students who enroll at Northwestern and pursue a national certification as approved by Northwestern. Cowley College

Cowley College is a community college and vocational/technical school with the main campus located in Arkansas City, Kansas. Students may earn up to 44 hours of credit through work at Northwest Tech, hours vary by career major.
